The Rabbitts

The Candydates

The Spongetones

THE SPONGETONES likely need no introduction to our audience: singer-songwriters JAMIE HOOVER (guitar), STEVE STOECKEL (bass) and PAT WALTERS (guitar) have been crafting, recording and performing neo-classics in the British Invasion mold together since well before their iconic 1982 debut album BEAT MUSIC. Their induction into the Power Pop Hall Of Fame might have been assured by that album, ranked as the #13 genre album of all in John M. Borack's authoritative guidebook Shake Some Action, and the equally-beloved TORN APART EP (1984), between them featuring the essential oft-anthologized classics like “She Goes Out With Everybody,” “My Girl Maryanne,” and “Have You Ever Been Torn Apart?” – just to cite a song apiece from the band's three world-class creative forces. But the band's catalog extends well into the '90s and 2000s, with a series of terrific albums and frequent live shows in their native North Carolina and beyond cementing their reputation not only as guitar pop progenitors, but some of its finest present day practitioners as well.

Kemopetrol

With this new EP and their latest album, Kemopetrol continues to uphold the trailblazing status they established with their debut. The band's signature sound remains intact: deep basslines and a dreamlike atmosphere blend seamlessly with Laura Närhi's captivating vocals. Kemopetrol, who released their debut album Slowed Down in 2000, has always followed their own path and rarely rushes out new releases. Engine was the band's sixth full-length album. Though they've taken breaks lasting several years, every time they return, it feels as if they were never really gone.

The Bablers

The story of THE BABLERS has become much more widely known outside their native Finland in recent years for good reason. It's been over forty years since the band came together as teenagers in the late '70s and took Finland's nascent power pop scene by storm with their debut album WHAT'S ALL ABOUT and its hit title track. For decades afterward, they remained a cult favorite among power pop afcionados worldwide until the surprise release of their acclaimed 2021 reunion album PSYCHADILLY CIRCUS won the band – in their longest-lived and defnitive lineup of leader, singer-songwriter and guitarist Arto Tamminen, drummer Janne Haavisto, bassist Pekka Gröhn and guitarist Hannu Pikkarainen – a much broader and long-deserved audience of fans in the indie pop world.

Merian

Merian is a folk-pop artist who seamlessly blends South Asian traditions with contemporary sounds. Rooted in Punjabi folk and Sufi influences, her music reflects the richness of the diaspora experience — weaving earthy melodies, emotional vocals, and modern pop textures into something deeply personal. Her second EP, Vadhaiyaan, breathes new life into beloved classics like Dama Dam Mast Qalandar, Jugni, Bajre Da Sitta, and Laung Gawacha, reimagining them with a fresh, soulful touch. While honoring the spirit of the originals, Merian gives each track a renewed voice that's both timeless and current. Based in India and working independently, Merian's sound is spiritual, feminine, and uniquely her own — grounded in heritage yet boldly forward-thinking.

Far North

The Far North formed in 2019 as a solo project for Lee Wylding, Lee was previously the vocalist and songwriter in the UK Americana band The Fireflys. Steeped in influences from the 1960’s and 70’s, The Far North are actively contributing to the burgeoning UK Americana scene and have already enjoyed airplay from radio stations in the UK and globally, including BBC 6 Music (Chris Hawkins), Regional BBC and Independent Local Radio.

Splitsville

SPLTSVILLE was formed in 1994 by identical twins Brandt and Matt Huseman of the critically acclaimed power pop band The Greenberry Woods, along with bassist/keyboardist Paul Krysiak. Their home-recorded debut album, Splitsville USA (1996), was a raw and energetic introduction to the band’s aesthetic, showcasing their knack for crafting short, punchy, and irresistible tunes. Ultrasound (1997), the band’s first studio album, demonstrated a more sophisticated approach to songwriting while retaining their signature energy. By the time they released Repeater (1998), the band had fully hit their stride, producing some of their most enduring material, with one review calling it "...a smorgasbord of great pop influenced equally by The Beatles, The Zombies, Queen, and the harder side of The Jam." During this time, Splitsville also built a reputation for their electrifying live performances.

The Jack Rubies

Three decades on from their last release on TVT Records, the Rubies have reformed with their original lineup and every bit of their bewitchingly jagged sound intact.

The Legal Matters

THE LEGAL MATTERS isn't just a band, it's a meeting of the minds of three notable figures on the Midwest power pop scene. Keith Klingensmith was a member of Hippodrome and The Phenomenal Cats and runs the indie pop label Futureman Records, Andy Reed was the leader of the group An American Underdog, and Chris Richards was Klingensmith's Hippodrome/PhenomCats bandmate and led his own group, Chris Richards & the Subtractions.

Gilo and Royal Blue

Gilo & Royal Blue is an acoustic duo known for their captivating blend of folk, pop, and world music. With origins in diverse music scenes, their collaborative reinvention of songs has been entertaining audiences since 2011.

Helen Counts

Helen Counts, a singer-songwriter from Madison, Wisconsin, has been making magic with her music for quite a while now, and every track has something to say. Helen's musical journey began when she was in her 20s, singing in East coast coffeehouses. She released her first album in 2002 and has created many wonderful pieces since then. Helen's music is not easily categorized. It could perhaps be described at a bit of pop, a dose of rock and a dash of folk and Country, all wrapped up in an Indie blanket.

Jacob Tell

LA-based singer-songwriter Jacob Tell has been writing songs since being inspired by the Ritchie Valens biopic La Bamba. His latest album HARD TO BE HUMAN, released in March, chronicles the hardships, conflicts and anxieties of post-election Americans. His current project, THE LOVED AND THE NUMB, is a collection of autobiographical songs about past relationships complicated by substance abuse, mental health struggles and intergenerational trauma. Jacob is a member of New Artists Spotlight and ISSA.

The Gold Needles

Hailing from Mick Ronson’s hometown of Kingston Upon Hull, England, The Gold Needles formed in 2015 and have cut an impressive swath through the British indie guitar pop scene ever since, building momentum that shows no sign of stopping. They've have released three albums – the most recent being the critically acclaimed WHAT'S TOMORROW EVER DONE FOR YOU? - and two highly collectible standalone singles on vinyl. They have also contributed tracks to a number of tribute compilations.

The Popravinas

John Adair (Guitar, Harmonica, Mandolin, Vocals) Dean Lyons (Guitar, Vocals) along with Steve Markowitz (Drums) and Bryon Haney (Keys, Piano) comprise "The Popravinas!" The "funnest" party you ever went to---The party after the party! That would quickly describe "The Popravinas" who are known to combine lyrics & sounds that are reminiscent of The Replacements, evolving guitar nuances in the vein of The Rolling Stones, and interesting touches of artists such as Whiskeytown, Wilco & The Old 97's. When you mix it all up...you come out with "The Popravinas."

WORLD5

WORLD5 started with five close friends who were professional musicians. Although life and personal projects put them in different locations around the globe, they kept alive the desires of making music together. Realizing that very long distances separate them physically but not musically, they used the power of the World Wide Web to shorten the physical distance.

Germina

Germina (real name Germina Lerato Rakgotho) is a South African-born DJ, radio presenter, and creative artist based in the UK. She is a DJ Presenter on Deeplomatikk Radio, where she showcases her passion for Afro-centric sounds and global rhythms. A graduate with a BA Honours degree, Germina blends academic depth with creative expression. Beyond music, she is also a UK Afro Model and holds the title of Miss Curvy, using her platform to celebrate confidence, culture, and body positivity. Through her work, Germina continues to represent African excellence while bridging cultures between South Africa and the UK.

Orbis Max

Orbis Max originally formed in San Diego in the early 1970s, playing covers of songs by the Allman Brothers, Steely Dan, the Eagles, Jackson Browne, and Boz Scaggs. Members include Craig Carlstrom, Don Baake, Bruce Walker, Jonny Viau, Dale Breeden, and relatively new recruit (circa 2024) Dw Dunphy. Orbis Max records new original music, with members based in California, Texas, New Jersey, England, and Italy.

Nelson Bragg

Nelson Bragg is a veteran on the L.A. pop scene. Bragg has played/recorded with L.A. bands Stew and The Negro Problem, Seth Swirsky (The Red Button), The Quarter After, The Mockers, Wrecking Crew members Hal Blaine, Don Randi and Jerry Cole, and produced and toured with Anny Celsi among countless others. He also was in The Narada Michael Walden Orchestra at Carnegie Hall and San Francisco's Davis Hall backing up Sting, Billy Joel and James Taylor and many others.

Ordinary Birds

Ordinary Birds formed in the stillness of early lockdown when four longtime musicians came together to create something real. With roots in Canada's indie and post punk underground, they blend raw urgency with shimmering atmosphere, a loud sparkle of emotionally charged rock. The band features guitarists Joel Passmore and Leif Thorseth, joined by bassist Liam Bryant and drummer Tristan Helgason. Their sound pulls from the tension of Fugazi, the lift of early U2, the sprawl of Broken Social Scene, and the weight of Deftones, shaping it into something distinctly their own. After years of writing in private, Ordinary Birds have released their first recordings: bold, propulsive, and intimate songs crafted quietly and meant to be played loud. Fans of indie rock with heart and grit will find a new favourite in Ordinary Birds.

Umbrellabirds

Umbrellabirds is the musical collective of Sam Blickhan, Lewis Daly, and Alex Hunt. The transatlantic three-piece began as a long-distance recording project when Sam Blickhan and Lewis Daly began exchanging demos in 2013. Alex Hunt heard these sparsely beautiful demos and initially signed up to produce, but was soon recruited as a full band member. The intricate, autumnal debut album was released in 2016, the product of many late nights and countless miles of travel. Oda Almås played strings on the self-titled debut. Shortly thereafter, the band began work on their second album — Closing Ceremony (2020) — featuring a bigger sound and a wider collective of musicians including Shyam Prasad on drums, Will Harvey on strings, and Cath Day on clarinet. Released on 14 November 2025, their third album — BACK TO LAND — further develops their signature indie-folk sound. Umbrellabirds have been played on BBC 6 Music by DJ Tom Robinson and featured on the Fresh on the Net blog and BBC Introducing Mixtape.

Growing up in Melbourne, Australia, she developed a passion for the visual arts, before finding a new love for writing, and making music. Her music crosses genres including indie-pop, alt-rock, and dark wave. Abby's new single 'Mars' is out now.
