Ordinary Birds formed in the stillness of early lockdown when four longtime musicians came together to create something real. With roots in Canada's indie and post punk underground, they blend raw urgency with shimmering atmosphere, a loud sparkle of emotionally charged rock. The band features guitarists Joel Passmore and Leif Thorseth, joined by bassist Liam Bryant and drummer Tristan Helgason. Their sound pulls from the tension of Fugazi, the lift of early U2, the sprawl of Broken Social Scene, and the weight of Deftones, shaping it into something distinctly their own. After years of writing in private, Ordinary Birds have released their first recordings: bold, propulsive, and intimate songs crafted quietly and meant to be played loud.
